Okay, we were talking about archetypes in class and then I thought about something funny; archetypes are actually all over the place. Lord of the rings, lord of the flies, animal farm, even the simplest kids shows on Disney have them! I know this seems very informal for me to talk this was but maybe when you are reading about 30 blogs average per a class you’ll be kind of tired so I’ll just push the luck a little more than the others though I haven’t read them yet either.
Alright, I think that Charlotte is a mentor to Wilbur because she seems to be a very caring figure to him, this relationship is almost like a child with a parent sort of thing. I can refer this to Lord of the Ring’s Gandalf. Gandalf is the mentor as well as the mother figure to Frodo and like Wilbur , Frodo is just a kid who worries about the things that seems meaningless to some but tremendous to others.
I also noticed the loss of innocence throughout the book. At first Wilbur was in the Bliss of Oblivious. Let me rephrase that, he was like a person in the kingdom of oblivion. Oh! Kingdom has brought up another thing in my mind. Wilbur is exactly like Sora in a Japanese game called “Kingdom Hearts”. But in most books, there is atleast one character that has loss there obliviousness and instead notices the world around them change more than they have expected and that is what I saw in Charlotte ’s web.
(You should probably google Kingdom Hearts. It’s a manga and a game)
